Five Foot Short
If you have been reading the site for a while, you will know that i like to try and promote my friends where i can. The reason why i do it so much is that my friends help me out a lot, from the design of this site to some of the photographic jobs i get. One of my very close friends, Kirsty Rich has finally got herself online, and i have had the pleasure of trying to set her up a WordPress site. Its a big learning curve for me, and the updates are coming at a steady pace, but it works and its a great home for her content. Kirsty does a mixture of photography, animation and film, and she will hopefully be uploading some of her work through the week. I hope that you can take the time to pop over and take a look. If you get a chance then leave her a comment or send her a message, it should put a smile on her face to know that people are getting to the site ok.
Crazy Arm
I am really happy to be able to write a small post about this amazing band. These guys have been a massive musical inspiration to me for many years and have given me opportunities to meet many of my favourite bands and record with professional artists. Last week i had the pleasure of seeing these guys in a very mall venue in Bath. They sounded amazing, but most importantly i got some great shots. Have a look on the gallery link to see some of the highlights, i will be chasing them up in March as they are playing the O2 Academy in Bristol. I will be trying to get there to take some more shots. If you get a chance to go and see them, i would recommend it at any cost.
Website Back Online
After a long period of down time, if you are reading this then you can see that my website is now back up and running. I am not quite sure what went wrong in the first place but i contacted my hosting company and they ran a fix on the account and now all is working. I am a little bit annoyed that the website was down for so long for no reason at all and that i had to send an email detailing the problems before it was fixed. In the near future there will be another small period when the website is down, but this time it will be planned as i will be moving hosting company. For anyone interested in hosting a website, please try to avoid using streamline.net as the service is terrible.

Teller @ O2 Bristol
Tuesday night was the fist gig of Teller’s (Tellermusic.com) UK summer tour. This was the first gig that i had attended at the Academy 2 venue so i decided to take my camera along and try and blag my way in. Lucky for me they didn’t seem too bothered about giving me a photo pass, so i got in free for the night with my camera. On first impressions the venue did not jump out in any way. For those who have not yet been to the upstairs venue, it is small bar area all on one level with a small stage at the end. The lighting for the stage was the same as you would expect in any small venue of a similar size. What did impress me was the sound, they had a great sound engineer that made the bands sound like they were playing on the main stage downstairs. Anyway, back to the photos. Although i had a press pass, there was no photo pit and no area for me to get in front of the crowd, i had to fight my way around people and guess at some photos as i held my camera over the barrier. Regardless, the results were great. I have been trying to build up my online band portfolio for a while and this is the first time i have taken live photos that i would really want to print and hang on my wall. I have uploaded a very small selection to my Flickr gallery, so head on over there and check them out.

Curtis Wedding Photo Ordering
Sorry for the delay in writing this. I have had a very busy few weeks with lots of photography jobs and a busy last term in work. As most of you will probably know, the Curtis wedding photos went live on the weekend as originally promised. The amount of page views for the photos has been through the roof (over 3000 in the first two days!) and it is nice to see people leaving comments and adding favorites. The online ordering service i have been using has had some problems recently so i have not been able able to sell any prints (well i could, but they would have cost £9999.92 each). Progress, but only a little.
Damn myself for talking so many photos at the Curtis wedding. It was just such a great day i couldn’t stop snapping away. I have been working through the photos for the past two days now and i have only just finished up to when we left the church to head back to the reception. Its slow work, but there are some great shots so far. I have picked out 50 of my favourites and have tweaked them a bit. I am really tempted to upload them so you can have a look but i want to wait until i have finished them all so i can get them up together and you can start ordering prints. Knowing me, i will have given in by tomorrow so you may find some new uploads on my flickr account.

Curtis Wedding
Another great day and another fantastic wedding. I have once again outdone myself in the number of photos taken in one day, i think i am going to need a new camera soon! I have already started to sort through the photos but this is going to take some time. I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone at the wedding for being some welcoming and allowing us to get some great photos. I will post here as soon as i have uploaded the photos for viewing online.
P.S i have once again broken the tesimonials page, but i will fix it asap.
Teller Studio Shoot
Just a quick post to say that i spent the day in the studio yesterday with Teller. I had a fantastic day listening to them practice some of the tracks that have yet to be recorded and having fun getting some great photos. Pop over to my Flickr gallery and check them out. Last night i finally got myself out of my flat and into Bristol to see some live Music. The venue was a small place in Old market called Space 72. Despite the size, there was a good sound, a bar and most importantly a band going by the name of Teller. I have heard a lot about this band in the past few months so i was really excited to take this opportunity to go and see them play. I have been trying to get some live music shots for a long time now, so i made sure i had plenty of battery and was ready to shoot. The lighting wasn’t great, but the band were entertaining so i was kept interested throughout the whole set. As for the sound, all i can say is that Teller gave one of the best performances i have been from a local band in many years. The songs are fantastically written and performed live even better. Photobox Gallery
Finally the good lads over at Photobox have sorted themselves out and allowed me to create a professional gallery. This means that i can now offer an easy way of buying any of my prints at a great price. Most importantly, Photobox provide a very fast and high quality service. I have only uploaded a few test collections at the moment, but more will be added within the next few days. If you would like to purchase any of my prints that can be found on my Flickr site, that are not yet on the Photobox gallery, please let me know and i will update them asap.
Testimonials
Some people may have noticed a few smal changes to the site. I have updated my avatar picture, updated the bio and a few of the pages have changed. The most major of these changes in the addition of a testimonials page in place of links page. This is for a few reasons, for a start my web designer (petercolesdc) has informed me that links pages are very last season and do not get used very often. I have also noticed that people do not seem to view the links page very often through my google stats. The other reason is that I hate to blow my own trumpet, so i am hopeing I can get a few previous clients to do it for me! Now i have a clear place for anyone I have worked with to post any comments about my work, good or bad. If you have a look, at present it is an empty space (except from me testing it) so please leave any comments you can so I can start to fill this up for future clients to see. Thanks
Stephen Russell
Many people will have noticed, at each of the weddings I take photos at, there is always a second person with me. His name is Stephen Russell and he is a photography graduate from Bath. I have had a link to his website on my links page for a while, but i wanted to give him a little bit more space on my website. Stephen is a great help to me at the weddings and many of the final pictures that are chosen to be displayed in my flickr gallery are his. If you have attended any of the previous weddings where Stephen has been in assistance please check out his website at www.stephenrussellphoto.co.uk. Stephen also provides his own photography services including weddings. Due to the nature of my full time job, i am usually unable to do weddings on week days (unless it is during my holidays), so Stephen should be your first port of call.

More photos for everyone
I have had loads of fun picking out my favorite photos from the last few weddings and its great for everyone to be able to look through 100’s of photos of such amazing days. Whilst i have been doing this i noticed that i only picked out a very small selection of photos to upload from the other weddings I have shot over the past few years, so I am going to go back to the storage locker and dig out some more to upload. As always i will post here as soon as I have updated the previous galleries.
Super Fast (Part 2)
Ok, so i hinted at it earlier and i couldn’t resist. I have chosen some more of my favorite pictures and i have uploaded them to my flickr account for your viewing pleasure. I am dropping off the wedding photos to the bride and groom tomorrow so as promised you should be able to order photos early next week. Once again, if you find any photos that inspire you, make them a flickr favorite or add a comment.
Super Fast
I have been working through the night and I have finally finished working through the photos for the Herriot Hislop wedding. I will hopefully be getting the photos to the happy couple today so that they can pick their favorites and then you can start ordering. I would like to say that I have picked just a few of my favorite photos and uploaded them to my flickr site, but it seems that lots of you have already spotted this as my viewing stats are at an all time high. 200 photo views in one day! If anyone has a flickr account (you can sign up for free) please leave me some comments on your favorite pictures. You can also leave comments on my website without having to sign up, just click on the title to this blog entry and you will see a comment box.
